About Us

Location

The store is located at the intersection of 18th and Chestnut Streets on the north-east corner. We are located on the second floor. Our address is 1737 Chestnut Street (Suite 201). Because the building is primarily residential, the door is normally locked. If you look to the left of the door, there is a panel of buzzers. Find the one to the right of the Rittenhouse Needlepoint label. Ring the bell and then wait right where you are; someone will answer the bell shortly. They will release the door and then you can enter the building. Once inside, you may take the stairs to the right or continue straight until you reach the elevator. When you arrive on the 2nd floor, our store is the door on the left (closest to the stairs). Come in and be prepared to be greeted by LuLu our big, black Standard Poodle. No need to worry though because Lulu is exceptionally well-mannered and sweet. If you need us to put her in the office, however, we can always do that -- just ask.

Hours

Our hours are Tuesday to Saturday, 10 am to 6 pm. We are open on Sunday from 11 am to 5 pm. We are closed on Mondays. We are closed on all major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day). If you are not sure whether we are open or not, feel free to check the calendar or call the shop (215-563-4566).

Public Transportation

Rittenhouse Needlepoint is conveniently located four blocks from the Market-Frankford subway (15th Street Station) and 1 block north are bus routes 17, 31, 32, 33, 38, 44, 48, 62, 121, 124, 125 (on Market Street). Travelling right in front our store on Chestnut Street are bus routes 9, 12, 21, 42 (eastbound) and one block south of our store on Walnut Street are bus routes 9, 21, 42 heading westbound. All Regional Rail lines service Suburban Station located at 16th and JFK Boulevard, just four blocks from Rittenhouse Needlepoint. Parking is available on Chestnut, Walnut and 18th Streets. The cost is 25 cents for 7 ½ minutes. Pay either at the meter (if there is one by your parking spot) or at a kiosk/pay station normally located in the middle of the block. Do NOT park illegally or let your meter expire because you will get a ticket. Philadelphia Parking Authority personnel regularly patrol this area and are relentless in their pursuit of parking violators. We suggest that you use public transportation to reach Rittenhouse Needlepoint or walk. However, if you do decide to drive it might be a better idea to park your car in one of the many private garages located within one or two blocks of the store. We suggest Interpark at 1728 Sansom Street or J & L Parking at 1744 Market Street. You might also try Parkway at 1845 Walnut Street or Central Park at 36 S. 19th Street.
