What’s Difference Between Needlepoint and Cross Stitch?

Needlepoint is done using varied stitches on a stiff, gridded, open-weave canvas, usually with thicker thread, creating a design on its surface, and is often used to create physical pieces such as stockings, belts, key fobs, etc. Cross stitch uses fine thread and floss, using X-shaped stitches on soft fabric that is often turned into framed art.
