This hand painted needlepoint canvas by Rittenhouse Needlepoint features the goat statue located in the shop's namesake Rittenhouse Square on Walnut St between 18th and 19th. Philadelphia has one of the nation's largest collection of public art with over 1500 statues and monuments. Officially titled "Billy", this sculpture made by Albert Laessle in 1914 was modeled after the artist's family goat. It had to be recast in 2018 after years of being loved by the children of the city. Even on the re-cast statue, the bright bronze peaks through the patina where people constantly give it a loving pet. The original can be found at the Philadelphia City Institute library branch in Rittenhouse Square
