This printed cross stitch pattern by Quaternion Creations features St Julian of Norwich, a Middle Age recluse and mystic. “All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of thing shall be well” – these words are the best known part of a book she wrote. St Julian of Norwich was the author of the earliest surviving English language works written by a woman.
At the age of 30 she closed herself in a cell, where she lived alone ever after, with a cat as her only companion. And though she is not the patron Saint of cats, she is often regarded as such.
This cross stitch chart is Quaternion Creations' take on the image of St Julian, made in warm autumnal colors. It also comes in monochromatic version that can be stitched in variegated thread. As stitched, this pattern uses DMC floss.
