Treenway Silks Ribbon 7mm Montano - Autumn Mums

This is a 7mm wide hand painted silk ribbon in Autumn Mums by Treenway Silks. The Montano collection of colors is named for Judith Baker Montano who collaborated with Treenway Silks to develop these colors. The ribbons in this group are colored by hand applying colors controlling the placement and length of each color. This process is like painting but using dye and hands instead of paint and paint brushes. It is labor intensive and requires great skill and patience.

Treenway Silks ribbon is woven from Bombyx silk, better known as mulberry silk. Considered the highest quality silk, it is prized for its durability and consistency, as well as for being super soft and lightweight. The ribbons are woven with a selvedge edge which makes them resilient to stitching on a variety of materials including rough needlepoint canvas.
