This quilt was hand sewn and hand quilted in the 1940s, but somewhere in the 1950s-60s it was rebacked with blue rose flannel. This new back and binding was machine sewn. The 1940s top features an assortment of flour sack cloth and other cottons, along with a blue and white stripe that feels like a blend. There are some fun patterns including on very charming one with sailboats. It is a medium weight quilt with thin interior layer, but the flannel backing will make it warm and cozy. It can be seen from one of the open seams that the inner layer is a resourceful mix of repurposed home linens. It is in overall good vintage condition, with just a few open seams, one dime size hole in the top, and a few light spots typical for age.
Quilt Dimensions: 88 x 80
